Profile
Jude Daniel is a chartered tax practitioner, a management consultant and an active member of the Bar Association. He headed the Pro Bono and Litigation Department of Miyetti Law firm between 2017 and 2019, after a robust legal practice as a counsel in the law firm of Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN) & Associates for a period spanning about 5 (five) years.
He has appeared on several intellectual and professional panels, written and delivered several papers including: The Admissibility of Electronic Evidence (2003), The Petroleum Industry Bill (P.I.B.): Impact on Stakeholders and the Oil and Gas Sector (2015) and Tax Administration in Nigeria: the Need for Better Approaches (2017). He was also a co-contributor to ICLG on Nigeria: Corporate Recovery and Insolvency 2019.
Briefly highlighted below are some of his practice milestones:
Election Petition and Political Matters
- Worked with a consortium of law firms that represented Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in all States and National pre- and post-election litigation between 2011 and 2016.
- Was an active member of the Petitioner’s Legal Team in the 2019 Presidential Election Tribunal and the Appeals to the Supreme Court, playing pivotal role in the areas of research, evidence gathering, monitoring and keeping up with fundamental regulations, guidelines and timelines.
- Secured judgment that recognized the leadership of Chief (Mrs) Chika Ibeneme as the National Chairperson of the Mass Action Joint Alliance (MAJA) Party and finally laid to rest the leadership crisis of the Party in 2019.
Taxation and Enforcement of Judgment
- Led a Team that represented the Adamawa State Board of Internal Revenue to recover Income Tax and Development Levies of about N1.7 Billion Naira between 2017 and early 2019.
- Successfully levied execution on the account of a judgment debtor domiciled with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) under the Treasury Single Account (TSA) Policy of the Federal Government.
Debt Recovery
- Led a Team that represented Asset Management Corporation (AMCON) in asset tracing and debt recovery of about N2 Billion Naira from a multinational oil and gas company in 2018.
Corporate Law
- Has registered several intellectual properties in Nigeria for local and international owners.
- Has incorporated several multinational companies in Nigeria for local and foreign clients.
